I'm a Yorkshire photographer born in Ilkley and based just outside Keighley. I've been doing photography now for over 10 years with a passion for landscapes, urban decay and architecture amongst other things.

I love to explore up and down the country in my search for capturing new images, whether it be a stunning view or the interior of an old and abandoned building. I find a certain kind of beauty to the decay of old buildings that are forgotten or ignored and often overlooked. Most of the time I get permission to photograph these but then sometimes I don't...  hehehe

I've won a couple of awards recently from The National Media Museum in Bradford, about 'capturing light' and the other from Leeds Waterways for an image taken on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

This is my first book... and I'm proud to say that it's already received recognition from

the Royal Photographic Society.

This film presents a collection of photographs by Simon Paul Sugden, documenting the architecture of derelict locations around Bradford, West Yorkshire. It is titled after his recently published book of the same name. The book can be purchased through Simon by contacting his Facebook page.

It's a 128 page quality printed book (168mm x 246mm)

containing 124 full colour and B&W images which you'll be able to buy on Amazon or you can purchase a signed copy directly from me for only £25 which includes postage & packing.

"Simon Sugden has captured the beauty in buildings in their second life of decay and dereliction.

These buildings have become abandoned, no longer in use for their original purpose, but the echoes

of their former life, whether as human habitation or workplaces, can be seen as the buildings gradually decay. The buildings range from Yorkshire mills,

farmhouses and fairgrounds to religious buildings, asylums and factories. Some of these buildings are returning to nature, others are little touched by the changes but all have a new kind of beauty."
